There’s no official “umbrella organization.” It’s just known as Monterey Auto Week. Events come and go, themes and locations change, and it’s all traditionally wrapped up with the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach.
But for car enthusiasts, it’s an entire week of all things automotive – vintage racing to memorabilia to rare car auctions. It’s car nirvana.

Online car auctions provide great prices on good new or used vehicles – you owe it to yourself to check into the government surplus and repo auctions. There is a steady supply of good used vehicles at absolute bargain prices available through the auction industry sites.

These vehicle inventories come from government and police fleets, and other government branches where vehicles need to be upgraded and replaced. Repossessed cars and trucks are also a source – ‘repo man’ is unfortunately a fact of life for some.
